How to use LinkedIn Learning to transition to tech

As mentioned previously, to get access to LinkedIn Learning, you have to sign up for a LinkedIn Premium account. If you are serious about networking and / or are job searching, you want to have a LinkedIn Premium “Career” subscription. Click here to learn more about this subscription option and its features.

The LinkedIn Premium Career subscription will give you access to the learning library. LinkedIn Learning courses are divided into three categories:

  1. Business
  2. Technology
  3. Creative

Each category is then broken down into a number of subcategories. In addition to individual courses, LinkedIn Learning offers content to those studying for professional certification exams or earning continuing education credits.

With that said, LinkedIn Learning is not a tech specific platform, but their course offerings under the technology category are fairly robust. For learning about the fundamentals of non-technical roles, you can’t go wrong with LinkedIn Learning.

LinkedIn Learning also has some great course options under the business category. In addition to learning the fundamentals of your target role in tech, and other concepts related to technology, it is essential to brush up on your business acumen and leadership foundations, especially if you have never worked in a corporate environment. Courses on leadership and building relationships should also be on your list of topics to upskill on.
